Don’t worry, be happy
This is the most common phrase I hear from used car salespeople who work in various outfits across India. When you’re in the hospital questioning insurance and the billing process, being told, “Don’t worry, be happy.” completely delegitimizes my very valid concerns and is the used car salesman’s attempt to evade any type of responsibility.
While kicking off my new blog with a post about being in the hospital was not my hope, I’m happy to report that the used car salesman is the exception to the rule at Dr. Ramayya’s Urology Nephrology Institute.
I was hit with another stone in mid-August and went through a few hospitals until I found this one which came highly recommended. I can see why. From the senior level physicians down to the aunties who clean the rooms, I’ve felt nothing but cared for medically and personally. When you’re navigating hospitals alone in a country where you’re expected to have one person by your side 24x7, this makes all the difference.
While my stone removal was successful, they had to insert a stent to keep my ureter opened. Unfortunately I developed a nasty infection which landed me in the hospital on Friday. Today (Monday) I am being discharged and not a moment too soon!
I’m ready to be done with major health issues in India, start prioritizing sleep, and get back to a regular exercise routine.
Turning a new leaf!
